Sale Summary

When we started "Calf Quest" five years ago, we were both in high school. Each year the quality of the consigned animals has improved. This year consignments came from Kansas, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri and a calf from the top selling heifer of two years ago came back as one of the consignments. Buyers came from Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri, so no one can ever underestimate the power of internet advertising.

The top selling heifer came from Drechsel Farms of Boonville bringing $2050 and going to her new home in Paris, MO.

The top selling steer brought $2250, was consigned by Syphrett Cattle Company of El Dorado, KS, and went to his new home in Illinois.

Plans are being laid for next year's sale scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Farmers Livestock Auction in Boonville. There will be an earlier starting time, 12 Noon, since we are planning to add a select group of bred heifers to the line-up. We believe this will add a new dimension to beef projects for the 4H and FFA students. Steers and open heifers will also be offered. More about the 2006 Sale
